Losing weight is easy if you do it the right way; however, you need to be safe about it. Adding exercise is the best way to lose weight safely and easily.

  1. First: Talk to your doctor

    If you are overweight, you should talk to your doctor before starting a weight loss regimen. He or she makes sure that it is safe for you to start jogging.

  2. Second: Get the right equipment

    Jogging is hard for your knees. Get a good pair of running shoes from a quality running store, and make sure you have comfortable clothing to work out in.

  3. Third: Make it fun

    Find some exciting exercise music to listen to while you jog. Scientists have found that people work out harder if they listen to fast paced music. Of course, if you would rather listen to something else or nothing at all, it is up to you. Exercise is only effective if you actually do it. If you make it fun, you are more likely to go out and jog. Some people may enjoy listening to recorded books while they walk or jog. Your mind is occupied by something other than your workout that way, and it gives you an excuse to go out and exercise.

  4. Fourth: Just go do it

    The hardest part of starting to exercise is actually getting out the door. Many people find it easier to work out at the same time every day. Some experts say that you should never skip more than one day of exercise.
